Welcome back to the official doscore site of
2010. the site needed an update badly and it didn't help that the
host deleted our account!!!. So I have whisked-up this quick design
and added some screenshots of the development versions of the next
release of Aura M2. the site is still
under development as always.
Networking has been my (jFK) main aim
for the next Live CD. Although we did actually provided many drivers
for Nic's on previous LiveCD's (from bone-saw onward) there has
never been an automated system to scan and load the dos based
drivers and assign itself an IP using DHCP. "Infinity" the last
doscore release did support DHCP but not automated segment in the
boot loader. So over the last few weeks I have added support for
Automated detection using PCI scan (I know!, its old but it works
fine) and so far I have Virtual PC (for Mac and Windows) and Vmware
Fusion Networking Supported. the biggest issue is I need to build
the map file for pci-scan. so if you would be so kind to lend us a
hand to-do so that would be great.
Milestone 2 has is still being
developed by chase. Although milestone 1 received mixed responses we
decided to change the base menu. This idea has been disliked in the
past but this is what we are wanting aura to become and although it
resembles the dock it doesnt work in the same way. Originally i had
designed this for the Orion Desktop but we have decided to use this
for the next M2 release.
Youtube, We would like to thank the
feedback that we have received from users of
Youtube who have watched the preview Videos of our
development builds and have joined the
Finntech development forums.
Arguments, ideas and Suggestions,
Although we thank you for your ideas and input we have been asked
why you cannot just download the Aura
or previous GUI's from the site as a ZIP and not as a live CD. the
basic reason is this is a distribution not a GUI. Processes in the
live CD effect how the GUI is run so it cannot be distributed as a
standalone. Source is available from chase by request. although the
sources are open the individual programs within the Ozone gui kernel
are not open source at this point (ie desktop.app has its own
license). |
